Hello and welcome to The Cuillin Collective.
First up, let us say that we are really looking forward to working with you.
There are just a few small things you need to know, our ‘Terms and Conditions’ if you will.
We don’t like to be formal here at The Cuillin Collective, but we feel that it’s important for you to know the following before we start our journey with you on the road to making the best explanation video possible.
From July 2012 we require a deposit against your video or package before we begin working on it. We ask that 50% of the final invoice is paid up front using BACS/Credit/Debit Card (UK Only), Credit/Debit Card (Int Only) or Google Checkout. This will ensure your project is scheduled appropriately. During production we will send you a watermarked copy of the video allowing you to let us know how you feel about it and if there are any changes you want made to make it perfect. Once we have reached a stage where you are completely happy with your video, we will then take the final payment and your video will be ready to show to the world. Unless otherwise agreed, the payment must be cleared before the video can be uploaded and used. Once payment has cleared, the copyright will be transferred to your company.
Next up, what we like to call ‘The Camel.’
Ever heard of the phrase ‘too many cooks spoil the broth’?
Well, we have experienced this feeling in the past. We love hearing input, suggestions and edits from you as it means you are getting exactly what you want when working with The Cuillin Collective. What we would like to avoid is a number of people from the same company each with a different point of view all commenting at the same time, as it really lengthens the process for all involved.
If you want to discuss changes or suggestions at any point in any given project then we are always around to chat through your options. We suggest you dedicate a spokesperson to voice the opinion from your team.
Which brings us to ‘The Guinea Pig’.
Please know that when you say you are happy and we begin to create, the process starts straight away. It is important that you really are happy with all stages as any last minute changes can result in additional charges. The reason for this is that our prices are as low as they possibly can be at the start and we don’t account for last minute, unscheduled changes.
As always, please let us know as soon as possible if you want to discuss changes or suggestions and we can sort them out with you. When given the go ahead to move onto the next stage, we take this as approval of the previous stage. Once animation begins, it’s much harder to make changes than pre-animation.
As a courtesy, I voice the first draft of your video to ensure that the script really is perfect. This helps us avoid any additional voiceover costs from the actual voiceover artist.
We work solely with Google Docs for writing our scripts. The reason; because many people need access to the file and using one online document ensures that the correct file is being edited at all times. Any customer edits have to be made directly to the online document to ensure that the alterations are seen by everyone involved. This is for the benefit of everybody.
We alter 25% of your explainer as part of the price. Any alterations outside of this will incur a per second charge. This will depend on the explainer style you have chosen.
As a final point, please know that our questionnaire is really important to us; it allows you to get across the main themes and points of what you want from your explanation video. Without it, we don’t know what you want. All we ask is that you fill in the questionnaire in full on the Friday before we get to writing your script. As a final cut-off point, the latest we can accept a questionnaire is 12GMT on the Monday. If you miss this point, then your video will be pushed back to the following week. Even when we have a full discussion with you, it is still important to us that you fill in the questionnaire.
When we create a video for you, it is yours to use as you wish (Handcraft/Digicraft). However the individual illustrations/characters that have been used to create your video will always belong to The Cuillin Collective (Handcraft Only). The reason we do this is so we can use the characters in other videos, which in turn keeps the videos at an affordable cost. If you’d like to use the illustrations for promotional use (Handcraft only), we charge double the cost as all illustrations will be drawn from scratch and belong exclusively to you. You will be provided with every illustration cut out and web-ready.
Thanks for taking the time to read all of this, we appreciate it.
Like we said before, we hate to be so formal, but we just feel that these things are important and they all mean that you get the best out of your experience with The Cuillin Collective, which will result in you getting the best explanation video possible. As always, we love to chat, so if you want to discuss anything further, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
